Omaha Steaks Proudly Salutes our Troops
As a family-owned company with a history spanning nearly 100 years, Omaha Steaks has long been humbled by and grateful for the efforts of our military troops and their families. That is why for many years, we have been proud to support the Armed Forces Foundation and their efforts to help the members of the military and the families who love them.
The Armed Forces Foundation is a national organization that offers vital assistance, through a well-rounded program of support, to military personnel, National Guard, Reserve Components and military families as they cope with difficult circumstances.
Since 2011, Omaha Steaks has hosted an annual Salute Our Troops initiative during the month of May, where 10 percent of the sales of specially created packages are donated to the Armed Forces Foundation. These packages are sold online, by phone and in our retail stores nationwide. In addition, our store locations annually host an in-store campaign, where customers are invited to purchase paper flags at $1 each for display in the store and all proceeds are donated.
In addition, in honor of Armed Forces Day, Omaha Steaks has many times over the years joined The Palazzo Las Vegas and Southwest Airlines to salute our nation’s wounded veterans with a weekend of world-class entertainment, dining and relaxation hosted in Las Vegas. During these events, the troops and their families enjoy the best-of-the-best of what Las Vegas has to offer and are the guests of Omaha Steaks at an all-star cook-out, where they also receive a deluxe gourmet steak package to enjoy at home.
Aside from the involvement with the Armed Forces Foundation, the company also is proud to honor and support military troops and their families by regularly providing a “taste of home” at events ranging from cookouts for deployed military troops to welcome home parties for soldiers and their families. In fact, our beef jerky has become a favorite with soldiers around the world.
“We have the deepest respect for the members of the military, who are willing to face dangers that we can only imagine in order to protect the freedoms we enjoy,” said President Bruce Simon. “We also appreciate the sacrifices made by the families of our military personnel, who keep things going at home, while anxiously awaiting the return of their loved ones. We are honored to support them and extend our heartfelt thanks for their brave service and selfless sacrifice to protect this great nation that we proudly call home.”
