Entertaining with Omaha Steaks Desserts
Desserts always taste better presented in an artful way, and featuring mini desserts at your parties is one of those food trends that simply won’t go away. Scaled-down desserts allow your guests to sample several items rather than one big dessert. So, if you’re looking for a new way to present desserts at your next party or family occasion, try serving a variety of desserts from Omaha Steaks that have been cut down to bite size. I guarantee your dessert sampler will be the most talked about food of the night and will leave your guests completely satisfied.
Let’s discuss “four of my favorite” desserts that Omaha Steaks offers. The Caramel Apple Tartlets, Individual Lithuanian Tortes , Chocolate Mousse Torte Squares and the Lemon Tarte.
1. Caramel Apple Tartlets
The Caramel Apple Tartlets are freshly peeled apple slices caramelized with butter, and folded into a made-from-scratch pastry, then … are you ready?… topped with a decadent real crème caramel. Not only are these little “heavens on earth” easy to bake, but their microwavable too. The tartlets come in a box of 6 and are guaranteed to impress. A great way to serve these delicious desserts would be to cut them into quarters to make them bite size. Try placing toothpicks in them so guests can easily pick them up. Each tartlet will probably need to cool for about 5 minutes directly out of the oven/microwave before cutting into fourths. If you don’t like apples, you’re in luck; we also have our triple berry tartlet which is a great replacement.
2. Lithuanian Tortes
The Lithuanian Torte is one of those desserts that you really need to try for yourself. A small bakery from Omaha makes these layered buttercream, apricot-filling and butter wafer cakes that are a truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and we’re proud to share them with you. The packaging lets you slide the cakes right out of their container for a stellar presentation that your guests will surely love. These cakes can be cut into six bite sized wedges and served on a platter.
3. Chocolate Mousse Torte Squares
The Chocolate Mousse Torte Squares can satisfy any chocolate craving. These tortes are ultra-rich and combine a dense chocolate mousse alternative layered with cocoa-and-rum-kissed chocolate sponge cake, and are then topped with buttercream stripes. I like to cut these torte’s diagonally while they’re still frozen. (Warning: these go fast when served on a platter!)
4. Lemon Tarts
Last, but certainly not least, we have the world famous Lemon Tart. This incredible confection has a sweetened shortbread pastry crust with a tart lemon curd filling – dusted with just a touch of powdered sugar on top. The tarte can easily be cut while frozen into little squares for a divine bite-sized dessert.
