Sweet Sliders of Mine Burger

My brother-in-law is a hamburger aficionado. He and my sister go down to Southern California all the time for hamburgers at a famous restaurant and he orders hamburgers that I would never think to eat. I mean – a PB&J burger? Yeah, no. But he swears by it.

When Omaha Steaks suggested I make something with their sliders, I immediately thought of my brother-in-law. How could I make a slider that he would be in love with? Easy – stuff those slider patties between two fat glazed donuts, top it with bacon, and add a dollop of spicy horseradish aioli.

And so I did it. I did it and then I showed him what I have done. Have you ever seen those cartoon characters whose eyes come out of their sockets when they see something they like? Yeah, he sorta, kinda, a whole lot did that.

And I think my eyes might have done that in reality when I tasted it. Never would I ever have thought that this flavor combination would be good. And yet, surprisingly, it was. There was sweet, savory, smoky and hot flavors all wrapped up in one -it was truly amazing.

Maybe my brother-in-law is on to something with these burgers. Not sure I’ll try the PB&J version, though.
